Materials & Finishes
What materials do you use to make your tables?

We work only with natural, noble materials

    Most often we use:

    - solid wood: oak, American walnut, ash
    - natural stone: marble, granite, travertine, quartzite
    - quartz sintered

Each wooden tabletop is made from boards selected by hand in terms of drawing and character. There may be knots and natural details in the wood - we consider them an element of uniqueness.

If you want a completely wearless countertop, let us know - we will select a selection suitable for such realization.

Structural elements are made of wood or steel.

We do not use veneer or wood-like materials.

    Which wood finishes are available?

Each HOOM table can be ordered in several colors so that it harmonizes harmoniously with the space, light and character of the interior. The colours shown on the website are indicative. The shade may vary depending on the grain, density and natural characteristics of the wood - each countertop is unique.

If you need to see the color in your interior, we will send samples. We subtract the cost of samples from the table value.

Can you match the color to my interior or samples from my architect?

Yes. You can send us a sample of the material and we will prepare a coloring to match its tone and character.
We also work on pallets received from architects and references from photographs.

How do you protect the wood – oil, lacquer, or other finishes?

Most often, we use natural oilwax, which penetrates the wood, protects it from the inside and outside. It leaves a matte, satin to the touch surface, allows the wood to breathe and preserve its natural character. In case of scratches or damage caused during use, it is easy to make a local restoration. Special preparations are recommended for the care of oilseeds.

We also offer a lacquer finish in an ultra matte, matte or other finish of your choice. It creates an outer, resistant coating that protects the countertop and does not require regular maintenance. In case of scratches or damage requires professional intervention.

Both types of finish provide high resistance to stains, moisture and UV radiation. We choose them so as to protect the material, but to preserve the natural appearance of the wood.

Customization
Can I customize the table - its size, shape, and details?

Yes. We make each table to order, in our own studio, we do not outsource production to other companies.

We adjust the dimensions, the shape of the countertop, the finish, the edges, the proportions and the constructions of the base.

You can send a plan of the room or inspiration - we will advise the best solution and prepare a quote.

Can I send an architect’s design or my inspiration photos?

Yes. We also work on architects' projects and visual references.

You can attach sketches, 3D materials, moodboards or interior photos.

Do you provide wood finish samples?

Yes. We will send samples by courier - you can see them in the light of your interior.

We subtract the cost of samples from the order.

Extendable Tables
    Do you offer extendable tables?

Yes. Selected HOOM models are available in a folding version - we have marked them on the website with the tag “Unfolding option”.

Among them you will find rectangular and round solid wood tables, including oak folding tables and custom tables with a folding function.

You can see the entire collection of pull-out tables in the dedicated tab.

If you have your own project or you need a solution adapted to a specific interior, we will prepare **table folding to size.

    Learn moreLearn more
What extension systems do you use?

We use three systems, selected for the design of the table and its proportions:

    - Plug-In (rectangular, oval and rounded corner tables)

Additional countertops are added from the short edge of the table.
The main countertop is not cut in half, and the grinding remains continuous, so that when unfolded, the surface looks like a single whole. We do not use built-in under the countertop - the table remains light and visually clean.
The most aesthetic solution, which practically does not limit us when it comes to choosing the shape of the table top or the shape of the legs.

    - Front-Slide (rectangular tables of selected models)

The table top moves along with the legs, and the goodies are stored in the design of the table. The system is quick to use, used in models where the design allows you to maintain stability and proportions.

    - Classic (all round tables)

The table top is retractable together with the base, which maintains the stability of the round form.
Additional elements are added externally to maintain the smoothness of the wood drawing.

How much additional length can the table gain when extended?

The range depends on the model and system:

    - Rectangular tables - Plug-In

+40 to +130 cm (1 or 2 inches, depending on the model)

    - Rectangular tables - Front-Slide

    tables up to 130 - 160 cm: +50 cm
tables from 170 cm: +100 cm

    Round tables - Classic

+50 to +150 cm (depending on diameter)

Can I order extra leaves later?

In practice, we prepare the groats together with the table - this is the only way to preserve the continuity of the grinding and the perfect color match.

With rectangular tables with Plug-In system, it is possible to make additions at a later time, but:

    - it will not be possible to maintain the continuity of the grinding,
    - the table must return to our workshop to prepare the appropriate fixings.

Therefore, we recommend that you decide on extra beds at the ordering stage.

Can round tables be made extendable?

Yes, some of our round models are offered in a fold-out version.

Information about the availability of this option can be found in the tab of each table.

You can see all our round tables in this tab.

Do you offer tables with leaves stored under the tabletop?

In the Front-Slide system, yes, the inserts are stored in the table, in the so-called butterfly system. Contact us if you are interested in this way of unfolding.

In the Plug-In system, we consciously abandon the installation under the countertop in order to maintain a clean line, lightness and immutability of form.

Delivery
How does the delivery process work?

We deliver the tables by dedicated transport, through external transport companies, without intermediate reloading - from our workshop straight to your home.

Before delivery, we will contact you to confirm the day and approximate hours.

We carefully secure each piece of furniture during transport so that it reaches you in perfect condition.

Will the table be carried inside my home?

The driver will help with the delivery, while the weight of the table (often more than 50 kg) requires an additional person on site.

If you need a full service of bringing and setting - we will arrange it individually. Please let us know before shipping.

Does the table arrive fully assembled?

In most cases - yes, we deliver the table in full.

With very large sizes or difficult access (e.g. stairs, narrow aisles, no elevator), the top and base can be transported separately, prepared for easy assembly, but we must have this information in advance before shipping.

Folding models requiring assembly are supplied with a set of tools and a short instruction - the whole process takes a few minutes.

When should I unpack the table?

It is best to unpack the table immediately after delivery - calmly, without haste and without sharp tools.
Solid wood needs air circulation, so it is not worth leaving it in the package for too long. Please do not leave packed furniture for more than 7 days in packages.

Can I change the delivery date?

Yes. If the interior is still in the process of finishing, we can arrange a later delivery date.

Please inform us at least 2 weeks in advance so that we can plan the transport accordingly.

What should I do if I notice damage after delivery?

This happens very rarely, but if something catches your eye:

    - take pictures of the packaging and the item
    - contact us by email

We'll take care of it right away.

    Do you ship tables internationally?

Yes - we carry out deliveries throughout Poland and to most European countries. In the case of shipments outside the EU, we prepare the transport individually - we will provide the quote after obtaining the delivery address.

Care & Durability
How should I care for a solid wood table?

For daily care, a soft, slightly damp cloth is enough.
Avoid aggressive detergents - gentle means for natural wood work best.

Wood feels best in stable conditions (approx. 45-60% humidity) and without contact with very hot dishes. Pot and pan pads are always a safe choice.

Is the surface resistant to stains, heat, and everyday use?

Yes. We finish the tables with oilcloth or varnish with high resistance to stains, moisture and everyday use.
Countertops are protected from traces of coffee, wine, water or greasy products, provided that they are wiped in a reasonable time and not left for a few days:)

The surface is matte, smooth and pleasant to the touch - resistant, but preserving the natural character of the wood.

Does the wood require re-oiling or maintenance over time?

A surface impregnated with oilcloth may require a slight refresh after years - this depends on the intensity of use and the conditions in the house.
Some customers do not need it even after 5—6 years, others prefer to refresh the table faster.

When finishing with an oilcloth, you can do it yourself or order it from us - we will prepare a care kit and instructions, or make a refresh in our workshop.

The varnished surface is more durable and usually needs to be refreshed less often.
However, if you want to renew it after years, we carry out such a process exclusively in our studio - the varnish does not renew itself at home.

Warranty & Service
What warranty do HOOM tables come with?

We provide a 2-year warranty on all HOOM tables for individual customers, covering the workmanship, construction and durability of the surface finish according to its intended purpose.

    What does the warranty cover?

    The warranty covers:

    - construction and stability of the structure,
    - durability of joints and mounting elements,
    - the correctness of the operation of mechanisms in folding tables,
    - correct preservation of materials and surfaces under standard use.

Wood is a natural material. Differences in hue, arrangement of rings or knots are its natural feature, not a disadvantage.

Do you offer restoration or servicing after a few years?

Yes. If after years you want to refresh the countertop or renew the surface, you can order it from us.

When finishing with an oilcloth, you can also use a care kit and renovate the table yourself.

The restoration of the varnished surface is carried out exclusively in our studio.
